Ben Crane had a 7-under 65 and a one-shot lead in the first round of The PLAYERS Championship. He has made four birdie putts longer than 20 feet in which he rolled in a 30-foot birdie putt on the first hole of the day. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and denfending champion Sergio Garcia were all out of the top of the leaderboard. Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia both ended their first round with a 71 while Phil Mickelson only 73.
