Sean O’Hair’s victory at Quail Hollow this past weekend leads to the betting odds on him at 25/1 as to win The PLAYERS Championship, following Tiger Woods’s 7/2 and Phil Mickelson’s 10/1, ranking third according to the odds courtesy of Bodoglife.com.
The PLAYERS Championship begins on Thursday at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, FL. Regarded as the “Fifth Major” by many golfers, there is no doubt that The PLAYERS Championship will attract many world famous players as well as thousands of audiences. The winner of The PLAYERS Championship can receive a fixed allocation of 80 points towards his Official World Golf Ranking and the total prize is up to $950,0000, the highest prize fund of any tournament in golf. However it is not easy to get this prize. The Players Championship is best known for what may be the single most recognizable par 3 in professional golf, the Stadium Course's 17th hole, known to golf fans worldwide as "the Island Green" and what has become TPC Sawgrass' signature hole. The final three holes are considered one of the toughest finishes in golf.
Anyway, I bet Tiger Woods could win though he didn't perform well at Quail Hollow, and the defending champion Sergio Garcia may also have the possibility.
Part odds for the Players Championship:
Tiger Woods 7/2
Phil Mickelson 10/1
Sean O’Hair 25/1
Geoff Ogilvy 28/1
Sergio Garcia 33/1
Kenny Perry 33/1
Steve Stricker 40/1
Paul Casey 40/1
